JUST IN: Gervinho 'out at least three weeks'
As Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Paolo Condo recently wrote on Sportweek magazine, "since when are international breaks... breaks?".
Nowhere is this truer for teams that have major international contingents, one of whom is Roma, who, according to Roma TV, will have to do without Gervinho for at least three weeks.
Having played in both of the Ivory Coast's qualifiers against Liberia, the former Lille player picked up a first degree muscular lesion, according to the club's medical staff.
This news comes at the worst time possible for the Lupa, who had rediscoverd the Gervinho of old this season after a disappointing 2014-2015 campaign.
Having netted times and provided assists so far, the former Arsenal castoff will certainly miss this weekend's trip to Bologna and next week's crucial Champions League tie away to Barcelona.
The Giallorossi will hope he can make their final European tie against BATE Borisov on December 9th, which will very likely be a decisive one. Fingers crossed.
