Juan Sebastian Veron returns to Estudiantes... at 41!
According to reports from the Argentine press, legendary midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is set to make a dramatic return to the field in 2017.
The 41-year-old will return to Estudiantes in 2017 to help them in their quest to lift the Copa Libertadores. The former Manchester United, Lazio and Chelsea player has resumed training with the squad ahead of the new campaign. Veron made his professional debut for his boyhood heroes back in 1994 and this latest return will be his fourth spell with the club.
Reports also suggest that his debut will take place on January 8 in the Florida Cup tournament against Bayer Leverkusen. During a glittering career, Veron has picked up league championship winners medals in Argentina, Italy and the Premier League and won the Libertadores crown with Estudiantes back in 2009.
During a 14-year spell representing his country from 1996-2010, Veron made 73 appearances, scoring nine goals.
