Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has been speaking at an Inter Legends event today. The main topic of conversation was the transfer window and first up, it was Italian international midfielder Antonio Candreva. Zanetti stated that; “He’s a great player, we have to set out our guidelines as to what players we need and make sure we stay on the right track”. When asked if the club would spend big this summer despite being under financial fair-play sanctions Zanetti replied; “I repeat we will meet on the 28th to set out our policy and we will try to continue to construct a great squad”.  

With Argentine midfielder Ever Banega set to join, Zanetti was asked if he had had an influence over the transfer; he replied; “I work as part of a group alongside Ausilio and Gardini and we all work for the good of Inter”. Next on the list was Genoa defender Christian Ansaldi, now Zanetti explained that; “He’s someone I know well as we used to be teammates in the national team but as I’ve stated, we are working together for the good of Inter”.  On Almiron; “He’s a player who interests us but we have to first produce a strategy”.  

Finally on the non-European slots available in the current squad Zanetti replied that; “We only have one available. (Yaya) Toure is a player of interest with a big personality, let’s see what happens”.
