Inter: a return to Ivanovic as Crystal Palace deny their interest
Earlier this week, Inter’s pursuit of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic seemed futile as the 32-year-old defender looked set for a move to Crystal Palace. Today however, Eagles boss Alan Pardew has ruled his side out of the running by explaining at his pre-match press-conference that; “We have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the player, these stories have been ones created by the press”.
Now the track looks to be open once again for Inter to launch a January assault. Ivanovic has been at Stamford Bridge since 2008 and has made over 250 appearances for the Blues. His current contract expires at the end of the current campaign and it seems inevitable that he will leave the club after eight years. Inter have been linked with a move and today’s news will have no doubt reached Italy where club executives continue to evaluate who will succeed Frank de Boer as team boss.
