Inter, Tete or Semedo for full-back: the details

Inter, Tete or Semedo for full-back: the details

Inter will continue to push for new signings in January and after renegotiating the terms of their financial fair-play agreement with Uefa, they will look to strengthen for the second-half of the season. It’s clear that the defence still needs reconstruction with perhaps a centre-back but especially a full-back.

    LINDELOF IN POLE:
According to Tuttosport, Benfica’s Victor Lindelof remains a primary target; the alternative is Criscito of Zenit (although this would not be an easy deal to conclude) and Matteo Darmian although he is likely to join Juventus should he return to the peninsula.

    TETE & SEMEDO:
As for other possibilities for full-back, Benfica’s Semedo Nelson fits the bill but the 22-year-old from the Cape Verde Islands has a buy-out clause of €45 million and moreover, is managed by Jorge Mendes. Inter’s sporting director Ausilio has followed the youngster for a long time but the operation looks to be far too complicated at this stage. For this reason, new boss Frank de Boer has indicated that Kenny Tete of his former club Ajax would be a good fit. Part of the Mino Raiola stable, his value is believed to be around €10-12 million, a similar figure the nerazzurri would have to pay for Criscito but Tete is much younger (20) and would be a far better long-term investment.
