Inter could be without Lucio next season. The Brazilian defender has not yet renewed his contract, which expires in 2012. The club is offering him only a 1-year extension and Lucio, 33, is looking for his last contract in his long career. Bayern would like him to return, Villas Boas wants him at Chlesea to pair with Terry. If Lucio asks to leave, Inter could be in trouble.

Only Ranocchia is certain: Samuel's physical condition is not perfect, Materazzi has left, Chivu has not always performed well, Cordoba has lost his pace and strength, Caldirola is still young. If Lucio leaves Inter will need a top defender, whixh is difficult to find. Otamendi, who has been linked to Inter in these last few weeks, has different characteristics, and so Subotic,  Rolando, Hummels or Cahill. That's why Moratti and Branca should think twice before letting Lucio leave.
