Inter’s January plan to purchase Mertens or Iturbe
WHO COULD LEAVE – Danilo D’Ambrosio is set to leave the club in January alongside the former captain Andrea Ranocchia. Inter hope to cash in € 15 million on the sale of the defensive duo, but at least half of the amount would be used to fill the club’s budget hole.
For this reason, Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio could consider to sell one of the team’s mainstays: Marcelo Brozovic. Last summer he turner down an offer of the Ligue 1 club Lyon, but the 22-year-old could be allowed to leave in January for an offer in the region of € 15 million. French and English clubs are reported to be interested in Brozovic’s services.
WHO COULD JOIN – Despite insisting rumors, the signing of Sofian Feghouli doesn’t seem likely to happen, at least in January. As previously reported, Valencia don’t want to sell the French-Algerian man, although the player doesn’t want to renew his expiring contract with La Liga side. The 25-year-old is most likely to join Inter as a free agent next summer.
Juan Manuel Iturbe and Dries Mertens are also tracked, but just one of them could join the San Siro side next January.
The Belgium International racked up ten Serie A appearances, but only four as a starter. Despite his shortage of club playing time, Maurizio Sarri has lot of confidence on the 28-year-old and it will be very difficult for Inter to sign him, considering also that Napoli allegedly turned down Wolfsburg’s € 30 million bid for the player last summer.
On the other hand, former Verona star Juan Manuel Iturbe is not on Rudi Garcia’s good book, despite the Argentinean joined his current club on a € 25 million deal from Verona less than two years ago. Rumors suggest that Inter could acquire him in exchange of Andrea Ranocchia.
