Inter's future: a Chinese partner... and SIMEONE??
"I see myself [coaching] at Inter someday".
Big words for a manager, especially one as internationally respected as Diego Pablo Simeone.
According to Tuttosport, the Beneamata could be making major changes on the bench come 2017, when Roberto Mancini's contract runs out along with those of Michael Bolingbroke, Giovanni Gardini and Piero Ausilio.
The report claims that the Cholo is being sponsored by former Inter and Argentina team-mate Javier Zanetti, who is now a member of the Beneamata's front office.
Among Inter's many obstacles is the fact that Simeone's contract runs till 2020.
The new Inter is increasingly likely to include a Chinse minority owner, and it's someone we've dealt with before: the Suning Commerce Group popped up during Christmas as being linked to both Luiz Adriano and Fredy Guarin, though neither ended up moving to Jiangsu.
The Corriere dello Sport writes that the Suning group is ready to inject cash into the club's coffers in exchange for 20% of the Beneamata. The Nerazzurri's financial situation isn't rosy, but could still fall within the parameters which Thohir agreed with UEFA's Financial Fair Play last summer: excluding academy costs, Inter would have to be €30 million in debt for the 2015-2016 season, which could be on the cards as the Milanese club decided to frontload a lot of its losses (including what's left of Walter Mazzarri's contract) to the 2014-2015 season. That said, the club would have to be self-sufficient by 2018-2019 to avoid the €14 million fine.
