Inter President Erick Thohir rules out Mourinho return
“Mourinho is a great manager who has made history at the club. But we have Mancini and we believe in his project. We definitely want to carry on with him.”
“It is quite clear that Mourinho won’t spend the next 15 years at Stamford Bridge, as Mancini is not going to do it here, but right now we are delighted with Mancini’s work at the club.”
The likes of Andrea Pirlo, Sofiane Feghouli, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Carlos Vela and Karim Bellarabi have all been linked with a San Siro move in the next transfer window and the Indonesian business man confirms that Inter will sign in new players in January.
“We’ll try to satisfy Mancini’s requests, but all the players that we’ll bring in have to be important for our project. I have noticed that against Roma there were a few players that have failed to play in the previous games.”
“At the moment we have enough players, but you never know what can happened in the future.”
Inter’s victory over Roma last Saturday allowed the Nerazzurri to reclaim Serie A leadership, although Thohir believes that it is still too early to think about winning the title.
“We have only played 11 games, the season is still very long and all the Serie A games are tough. I believe we have a very strong team and our aim is to qualifying for Champions League.”
“I don’t think we’re playing bad. We are competitive and after all only victories matter.”
