Inter may finally get their hands on Ibrahim Afellay. The Nerazzurri have been after the Dutch winger for long but when they first approached him, in January 2011, the player had already agreed a deal with Barcelona.

Back then the Azulgrana agreed to pay €3M up front in order to win the race for the player, who was going to leave PSV at the end of that season as a free agent.

But Afellay has had a troubled spell in Cataluña mainly because of a serious injury which put his career on hold. Now the player has fully recovered but given the rise of Tello and Cuenca he will once again struggle to become a regular member of the team.

And in the summer, he could leave La Liga and join the Nerazzurri who haven’t stopped watching him. Afellay will be available for €7M but Inter need to beat the competition of Liverpool and Newcastle...

• PSV want Van Bommel

PSV Eindhoven are trying to sign back Mark Van Bommel as confirmed by the club’s director Marcel Brands.

The 34-year-old midfielder represented the Dutch outfit from 1999 until 2005 and could be tempted to return to him home base given his expiring contract.

“Now it is up to him, we have made our offer,” Brands told Eindhovens Dagblad.

In the meantime, the player’s agent confirmed that Van Bommel would agree to reduce his wage in order to return to the Philips Stadion considering that Milan will probably refuse to negotiate a new deal.

• Lazio chase Nikci

Following the successful signing of Lulic, the Bianconcelesti have put their eyes another low-cost talent – Adrian Nikci.

The Zurich player would be available for €400k as confirmed by director Ighli Tare.

Nikci is an attacking midfielder admired also by Genoa and Fiorentina, but Lazio definitely hold the upper hand in negotiations.

Lazio are also interested in another starlet from the Swiss league – Granit Xhaka. But the Basel midfielder the Bianconcelesti are definitely behind all their rivals.

The player has been approached by Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Juventus.
