Luca Modric, Cesc Fabregas, Nuri Sahin: the new Inter playmaker in the midfield will be one of them. The three players are similar, young and with great quality in a role that caused some problems at Inter this season. All three would require a big investment of at least 25 million euro, a sum destined to go up because of the competition from big European clubs. Moratti is convinced, he wants at least one big name to put Inter back on top, but he's not prepared to face painful negotiations. That's why the arrival of Fabregas and Sahin would be difficult.

The Spanish midfielder will leave Arsenal at the end of the season to joing Barcelona ready to invest 35 million euro. The player appreciates Inter's interest, but he's feeling homesick. With Nuri Sahin it is a different story: He is the leader of  Borussia Dortmund, the next German champions that will play the Champions League next season. Therefore, they have no intention to sell their best players like Sahin. It is easier to acquire Modric, especially if Tottenham do not qualify for the next Champions League. In 2008 the Croatian midfielder was paid 21 million euro and his contract will expire in 2016, but he has not ruled out leaving at the end of the season. He could leave White Hart Lane for about 25 million euro.
