Inter: Joao Mario excludes Luiz Gustavo, Medel can be the playmaker
Portuguese International Joao Mario has emerged as possible midfield reinforcement for the 2016-17 campaign. The nerazzurri are close to completing the 23-year-old switch for € 50 million, but his arrival would exclude the signing of Luiz Gustavo, another target of the Serie A giants.
De Boer will try out a 4-3-3 system in his first Serie A game this season. Joao Mario would hypothetically cover the role of right halfback entering competition with Ever Banega who has played in the same position with Argentina national team.
The former Sevilla ace’s favourite position, however, is attacking midfielder, but De Boer is currently not considering the 4-2-3-1 system and could try the Argentinean as regista in front of defence. The feeling we have, however, is that De Boer is also looking for some balance and that could be guaranteed with Gary Medel deployed in the role of playmaker.
De Boer is also considering youngster Gnoukouri in that position. The Dutch manager thinks extremely high of the Guinean midfielder who, however, is close to joining Pescara on a loan deal. New Serie A boys are pushing to take the 19-year-old midfielder, but De Boer will have the last word over his future at the club.
