Inter held to 0-0 draw by Austrian club Wattens in first friendly of the season
Roberto Mancini opted to start with a 4-2-3-1 system with Handanovic; Ansaldi, D’Ambrosio, Juan, Miangue; Kondogbia, Gnoukouri; Biabiany, Jovetic, Bessa; Icardi.
Handanovic denied three attempts by Watters’ strikers and after the first half break Mancini changed the whole formation playing Carrizo; Yao, Ranocchia, Della Giovanna, Dodo; Bakaioko, Melo, Zonta, Nagatomo; Palacio, Pinamonti.
Former Crotone loanee Yao was arguably the best man on the pitch for Inter. The promising defender played out of position (he is a centre-back) but showed plenty of personality. Handanovic, Biabiany, Bessa, Gnoukouri, Pinamonti, Della Giovanna, Ranocchia e Palacio have also played a very positive game.
The performances of Miague, Jovetic, Dodo and Icardi have been pretty disappointing. The Argentinean striker is still not in sync with Jovetic and Dodo has made a couple of mistakes which could cost Inter the game.
The Brazilian left-back is set to return to Sampdoria on a loan deal.
