Inter; Gabigol set to go out on-loan
Reports in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Inter will look to send striker Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol) on-loan in January despite recent reports stating that the player has no intention of leaving the club on a temporary deal.
The 20-year-old arrived from Santos in the summer after much negotiation but after a brief appearance against Bologna, the Brazilian international looks to have disappeared off the radar. The player has not been able to play in the club’s disastrous Europa League campaign, because of the Financial Fair-Play restrictions imposed on the nerazzurri by UEFA. Back in Serie A, Gabigol’s way into the starting XI has been blocked by Banega, Eder and Palacio so the best solution in the short-term looks to be a loan-move to a club outside of Italy.
There have also been comments made by former stars of the club that Inter had no need to go out and purchase the youngster in the first place. After a huge fanfare surrounding his arrival, it’s now possible he could quietly slip out of the back door until the summer.
