Ibrahimovic is heading towards the MLS; "I will conquer the USA just like I have Europe"
The future of Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is already written. The 35-year-old Swedish striker has been speaking to Aftonbladet and explained what his next project will be when he leaves Old Trafford. He stated that; “Will I still be a United player next season? If I want to be yes, but we will have to wait and see. It not only depends on the football, there are other issues to take into consideration”.
Asked if those other considerations where a possible switch to the MLS, Ibrahimovic explained that; “For sure it is a great option and I see it from both a football and lifestyle point of view. I want to conquer the USA just like I did in Europe. I’ve travelled just like Napoleon, winning in every country I’ve played in and why shouldn’t I do this in the States”
LA Galaxy are reportedly the team in pole-position to take the former Swedish international and with the recent departure of Robbie Keane, there is a space in the forward line that they would be happy for Ibrahimovic to fill. Another possible destination is New York FC where he could be reunited with Andrea Pirlo, his former teammate at Milan, or there is even talk of him possibly joining the Red Bulls. What is clear however, is that the MLS is ready to welcome Zlatan and the marketing men cannot wait.
