Szczesny: ‘I can’t imagine joining an EPL team that isn’t Arsenal’

Roma loanee Wojciech Szczesny revealed his plans for the future in an interview with Polish website przegladsportwy.pl.

“I love Arsenal, but I prefer playing on a regular basis for the Serie A vice-champions to sitting on the bench all season long”, the Poland International told the journalists.

“Wenger thought that it was better for me to join another team on loan in order to play regularly. I trusted him, and in the end I was right.”

“Leaving Arsenal was painful and it was a difficult decision to make. I can’t imagine myself with another English team but the Gunners.”

Despite Rudi Garcia blaming the 25-year-old for Roma’s away defeat at the hands of Inter, Szczesny feels that his new club trusts him.

“I am feeling good in Rome right now, everyone believes in me. I can feel that manager, fans and teammates have trust in me.”

Roma’s Sporting Director Walter Sabatini has also revealed that it will be very complicated for the Capitolines to make Szczesny’s stay permanent, as his former boss Arsene Wenger thinks extremely highly of him.

The Poland International’s idea of his future, by the way, is not as straightforward.

“I’ll make a decision about my future only after EURO 2016. Joining Rome was the best thing I could do.”
