How Mancini turned Inter into a chameleon
Each Sunday Mancini surprises everyone making changes to the starting XI.
Young holding midfielder Assane Gnoukouri started in the opening game of the season against Atalanta, Jonathan Biabiany was in the starting line-up against Frosinone, while former Barcelona man Martin Montoya made his senior team debut in official games playing from the 1st minute against Udinese last Saturday.
Mancini has changed systems as well as men thus far. At the beginning of the season, before Adem Ljajic’s and Ivan Perisic’s arrival, he usually opted a 4-3-1-2 system, before switching to 4-3-3, 3-5-2 and 4-2-3-1.
Inter have shown the same solidity thus far, regardless Mancini’s frequent changes, which means that the team spirit and harmony is impressive at San Siro in this moment.
Everyone’s job is important, but no one is indispensable. Take Freddy Guarin and Marcelo Brozovic, for instance. They are not two regulars at Inter but they are always ready to help out the team whenever Mancini is asking them to come off the bench.
At the same time no one has ever complained for lack of playing time, which is something that can happen when a club like Inter have 28 player in their squad, though they are playing two domestic competitions this term.
Is the team-spirit that Roberto Mancini has built a cornerstone of Inter’s future triumphs?
