Honda set for January Milan exit, EPL clubs interested
Having expressed his views of the club’s transfer policy in a very frank press conference when on international duty with Japan, the former Arsenal target was always likely to face some flak for his openness.
Despite having signed a deal that would keep him in Milan 2017, the Rossoneri have decided to put the ex-CSKA star on the market in January in the hope of cashing in on the man who netted six Serie A goals in his first seven appearances last season.
Honda’s appeal in Asia markets won’t be enough to keep the Japanese star in Milan, due also to an increasingly overcrowded midfield which may yet be strengthened during the January transfer window, as evidenced by recent talk of an eventual return to the Giuseppe Meazza for Kevin Prince-Boateng.
The Rossoneri are hoping to profit from a deal which saw them bring Honda to Milan on a free transfer. Three clubs, Everton, Tottenham and Valencia have already made inquiries, though no official offers have been made as of yet.
