Higuain, his agent speaks to Radio Marca

Nicolas Higuain, the agent and brother of Napoli striker Gonzalo, has been speaking to Radio Marca. He began by explaining the controversy surrounding the buy-out clause in his brothers current clause; “The President has the right to demand the money for the clause and we have the right not to renew. In 2013 Higuain left Real Madrid for a new project. He came to Napoli with great enthusiasm, the coach at the time Rafa Benitez, spoke of the improvements in the structure of the club and the fight against Juventus. In my opinion, however, the project is nowhere near what Gonzalo expects. Napoli has given him a lot and vice versa, but the project is below expectations”.

When asked in more detail about the proposed renewal at the San Paolo, he replied that; “Gonzalo will not renew but he will respect the contract because he is a professional. I have not had contact with any other clubs but I repeat we will not renew. There are at least four or five teams that can afford Higuain both in Spain and England and there is also PSG and Bayern Munich”.

Looking ahead to the future he was asked about the latest rumours of a bid from Atletico Madrid to which he replied; “Simeone is a great coach, in the last three years he’s been in two Champions League finals despite not having a huge budget. He is amongst one of the top three/four coaches in the world. (Napoli coach) Sarri is also a great coach but we’ll see in the future if Gonzalo will be trained by Guardiola, Conte or Simeone….”
