Guardiola confirms Real Madrid talks
The Merengues reportedly made contact with Guardiola one year ago, when the Barcelona legend was in charge of Bayern Munich and Rafa Benitez was on the brink of sacking in Madrid.
The Catalan tactician has not deined that Barcelona’s hatred rivals Real Madrid had offered him the job him when he was still in charge of Bayern Munich and has also informed British media about reason why he decided not to join the Santiago Bernabeu side.
“I’ve always belonged to Barcelona, getting the Real Madrid job would have not been convenient neither for me nor for them” Guardiola tol reporters ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash against WBA.
The LaLiga giants eventually replaced Benitez with Zinedine Zidane with the Frenchman who went on to win the UEFA Champions League six months after his appointment as Real Madrid’s head coach.
