Griezmann: "I will stay at Atletico Madrid even without Simeone"
Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is constantly linked to a move away from the Spanish capital. Now representing himself in all his business ventures, the 25-year-old French international has been speaking to GQ magazine and had some reassuring words for the clubs fanatical fans. He began however, by explaining that; “I don’t know if I consider myself a star, even if everything I say is repeated 10 times greater than what I initially stated. I have to be very careful what I say”.
He continued by declaring that; “If I want to reach the highest levels of the game then I must start winning trophies and I know I can do this with Atletico. Last year we were close once again to winning the Champions League”.
With the future of coach Diego Simeone also in serious doubt, it was always believed that Euro 2016’s top goalscorer would follow the Argentinean out of the club; these latest comments will have eased the fears of the Atleti faithful, for now.
