Giaccherini and Bernardeschi chasing a place in Italy’s EURO 2016 squad
Fiorentina starlet Federico Bernardeschi gave La Viola the lead shortly before seeing Emanuele Giaccherini netting the equalizer for Bologna.
The importance of these two wingers for Fiorentina and Bologna has gone beyond the goals they scored. They have both proved to be very good at technical things as well as being two aggressive runners who can help the team under the offensive and defensive point of view.
Bernardeschi has scored his fourth seasonal goal – the first in Serie A – while Giaccherini has netted his 6th in the last 13 games.
Italy national team coach Antonio Conte was not attending the game, but there is no doubt that the scouting report on the two Italian wingers will be more than positive as Mauro Sandreani, one of Conte’s right-hand man, was sent to see the game at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna.
Conte has plenty of options down both flanks, but only Alessandro Florenzi and Antonio Candreva can take their place in the EURO 2016 team for granted.
Waiting for the definitive maturation of Stephan El Shaarawy, both Emanuele Giaccherini and Federico Bernardeschi can claim their place at EURO 2016.
