Gazzetta: Moratti declined Inter presidentship offer from Suning
It is claimed in the Rosea's pages that Moratti would 'struggle to deny that Suning had offered him the presidency of Inter', something which would happen when Erick Thohir leaves the club, no later than October.
Would this move be disrespectful, the Gazzetta asks? No, because Thohir- despite owning 31% of the club's shares - would not have the local knowledge of the territory, something Moratti doesn.
Though Moratti has turned the offer down, he has however suggested that ownership bring in Italian directors, if not people with an Inter heritage.
Remember, Moratti hinted at this just after the club's sale was made official on June 6th ("there are plenty of Inter-supporting bankers and executives who are ready to lend a hand").
The Gazzetta concludes by mentioning that Moratti wanted someone who had more of a financial than a football background.
