Gareth Bale has € 1bn release clause inserted into new Real Madrid contract
However, according to La Repubblica, there are more impressive figures inserted in the former Tottenham Hotspur ace's agreement with the Merengues. The Italian news outlet report that Bale’s new release clause is set to € 1 billion, just as much as his teammate’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bale and Florentino Perez have announced the contract extension today posting pictures on the club’s official website and social media accounts.
Bale’s new contract at Real Madrid is set to expire in 2022. The27-year-old star is the second-most paid footballer in the history of football as he switched Tottenham with Real Madrid in 2013 in a € 100 million move and is only second to Paul Pogba’s € 105 million Manchester United transfer.
