Galliani: ‘Maxi Lopez after Tevez’
Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani insists Maxi Lopez is the alternative to Carlos Tevez, who is still the Rossoneri top target.
“We want a striker because Antonio Cassano got injured but we are not ready to sign Tevez on a permanent basis,” claimed Galliani.
“It depends on Manchester City and the player. We can offer a free loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. Tevez doesn’t want to join Paris Saint-German because he wants to play for us, but I do understand City’s priorities.
“We already spoke with Catania about Maxi Lopez, he is the second name on our list,” concluded Galliani.
Meanwhile, PSG director and former Milan boss Leonardo explained he has no intention of stealing the Argentine forward from the Rossoneri.
“I haven’t contacted the player and will not interfere with Milan on this deal. But of course if the call themselves out of it, we are ready to step in,” explained Leonardo.
From Catania, instead, Lo Monaco confirms the Maxi Lopez interest:
“We have reached an agreement with Milan but also received other offers,” explained Lo Monaco. “Selling a player to Milan makes us proud and Lopez has 90% of chances to leave Catania.
“The Rossoneri need time though and it has been over two weeks now. We are a small club and need to consider all offers.”
