From England: Arsenal pounce on Mandzukic

With the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic will probably see his game time reducing next season. After the arrival of Robert Lewandowski at Bayern three years ago, another top class striker has been bought by the club he plays for.

The former Atletico Madrid striker’s agent has told media that Mandzukic wants to stay at Juventus despite the arrival of last year’s Serie A top scorer at the J Stadium.

The future of the Croatian hit-man, however, could be far from the J Stadium as, according to The Sun Arsenal have set sights on the former Bayern Munich star.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a new striker and after Jamie Vardy’s snub and Lyon’s decision of do not sell Alexandre Lacazette in the current transfer window, Mandzukic could be Wenger’s first choice to boost the Gunners’ attack.

Arsenal will make one new attempt to sign Lacazette offering Lyon £ 33.7 million if the Ligue1 side will also reject that offer, Wenger might decide to enter transfer talks with Juventus for the 30-year-old.
