Former Juve, Samp, Spurs LB Reto Ziegler is the top scorer of Swiss Super League

Do you remember Reto Ziegler? He moved from Tottenham to Sampdoria in summer 2007 and had been staying at the Marassi until 2011, when he moved to Juventus after achieving a stunning Champions League spot with the blucerchiati in the previous campaign.

The Swiss left-back failed to live up to expectations at Juventus, so much so he did not even register one appearance under Antonio Conte and joined Fenerbache before the 2011-12 campaign begun.

After Fenerbache, he also moved to Lokomotiv Moscow and Sassuolo and in summer 2015 he finally moved to Sion, in the Swiss Super League.

Well, Ziegler is now the best scorer of the league, having netted eight goals so far this season. The former Sampdoria defender is now playing as centre-back and shares the top spot of the scorers’ table with Lugano’s Ezjan Alioski.

Ziegler netted four goals from the spot, then he has also scored one from free kick, one with a long-range shot, and a couple through a headers. He scored four goals in the last two games againt Grasshoppers and Lausanne.
As of today, Ziegler has scored more league goals than the likes of Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Ronaldo, Griezmann, Diego Costa, Aguero, Lukaku and Lewandowski.
