Former Barcelona target could join Frosinone in January
Eventually, the Capitolines get the better of the Catalans signing the Brazilian on a shocking € 15 million deal. Trouble is, Roma had already filled their quota of three non EU players and Gerson was left thriving at his current club Fluminense.
During the last few weeks, reports from the Brazilian media prompted that Gerson’s move at the Stadio Olimpico could have fell apart as the Brazilian side have still not received the first € 2 million payment from the Italian club.
Despite this set-back, Fluminense confirmed Roma’s payment just a few days ago and the starlet will regularly join the Giallorossi from next January.
As it stands above, Roma have already filled their quota of three non-EU players and Gerson will not be eligible to feature with Francesco Totti, Mohammed Salah and Miralm Pjanic until next June.
For this reason the Giallorossi Sporting Director Walter Sabatini is wondering which could be the best solution for Gerson’s future.
It’s still a big question mark whether Gerson should join another Serie A side on a six months loan or not. According to rumors, the 18 year old could join Frosinone on a loan deal, even if both Sampdoria and Bologna are reported to be interest in the player.
