FOCUS: PSG keen on AS Roma MF Pjanic

As well known, AS Roma Sporting Director Walter Sabatini will leave the giallorossi at the end of the season. However, the club’s strategy for the next transfer will be influenced by the choices made by Sabatini himself. Some of the youngsters signed by the latter are in fact tracked by many European clubs, and by selling them, Roma could obtain the amount needed to accomplish Luciano Spalletti’s requests.

However, the giallorossi will need to sell one of their stars to build a team suitable to the Tuscan tactician’s ideas: Edin Dzeko seemed to be the main candidate to leave the Olimpico, but the Bosnian international is admired by Spalletti himself. On the contrary, it could be difficult for the Capital’s club to keep Miralem Pjanic. Added to the contract of the former Lyon man there is in fact a €45 million release clause, and he is a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are seeking the heir of Thiago Motta.

The Rouge-et-Bleu will try in any case to low the player’s transfer fee, but it seems difficult that they will offer to the giallorossi the 20-year-old midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has become a cornerstone of Laurent Blanc’s team. Moreover, the eventual signing to permanent deal of Lucas Digne won’t be linked to Pjanic’s eventual transfer to Paris. If PSG want Pjanic, they will then have to make an offer in cash or pay the Bosnian’s release clause.
