FIFA, OFFICIAL: Real Madrid & Atletico Madrid transfer embargos upheld
Both Real Madrid and city rivals Atletico have lost their appeals to get their respective transfer bans lifted. FIFA has announced that their original punishment will stand and that both clubs will be prohibited from making any signings for the next two transfer windows although this does not apply to players leaving the clubs.
In addition to this, both clubs will receive fines of 900,000 Swiss francs (Atletico) and 360, 000 (Real). They have both been given 90 days to observe the rule put in place to underage players implicated in the process.

Real Madrid has already launched an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
