    EXCLUSIVE: Sassuolo make Rugani bid

No secret that Juventus and Sassuolo are on very good terms. This, however, doesn’t mean that all negotiations between the two sides end with a done deal, take Domenico Berardi, by instance.

According to our pundit Nicola Balice, the neroverdi have made an attempt to sign Juventus’ unhappy defender Daniele Rugani who has become the fifth-choice centre-back after the arrival of Medhi Benatia at the J Stadium.

Sassuolo want to sign the former Empoli starlet on a season loan deal with option to extend Rugani’s loan for one more campaign. The neroverdi are also open to pay the player’s wages for the entire 2016-17 campaign.

Juventus, however, have said no, at least for the moment. There are two main reasons behind Juventus’ refusal: the first one is that with just one week left before the end of the transfer market, they would have not enough time to sign a replacement. The second reason has a lot to do with the club’s strategy : Rugani is raised in Juventus’ academy and each Serie A club must register at least four of them in the squad for the 2016-17 campaign.

Sassuolo will make a new attempt in the next few days, but Juventus are not willing to let their promising defender leave on loan, though they’d be open to sell him to permanent deal for a crazy offer, probably around € 35 million.
