EXCLUSIVE Romano: Spurs, Liverpool want Juventus target Berardi
Juventus fans, take heed: when the Premier League is ready to go down your chimney and steal your presents, you had better take it seriously.
One such present is Domenico Berardi, who has long been promised to Juventus but is now a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettini, who have both been dazzled by him. The Argentine coach has followed Mimmo for a while, as have Liverpool, who know everything there is to know about him. Tottenham have the advantage, having already sounded Sassuolo out regarding a potential deal.
That said, it is well known that Sassuolo and Juventus have an excellent working relationship, which explains why both clubs took very little time to answer. Though Berardi's choice carries some weight, it is the Old Lady who has the finaly say on where he ends up.
And, believe us, she has no intention of letting such a prize asset slip through her fingers, whilst Sassuolo don't want to compromise their relationship with Juventus.
Basically, Berardi will only alter his path if he wants to, or if an offer is made that is too high to ignore. Otherwise, it'll be a tall order for (a very determined) Spurs to prize these two teams apart.
As things stand, Juventus and Sassuolo have an agreement for an €18 million transfer should Berardi move to Turin next summer, or €25 million if this happens in Summer 2017.
It'll take something humongous to sway Berardi. Tottenham have been warned....
