EXCLUSIVE Romano: Roma want Conte after Garcia exit
The Frenchman has failed to lift a single trophy during his three-year spell at the club, with recent disappointing the straw that broke the camel's back.
If the Giallorossi fail to qualify for the Champions’ League knock-out stage in their last home game against BATE Borisov in two weeks' time, it is very likely that Garcia will be shown the door, with an interim manager ready to take over at the club, before the appointment of a new boss for the 2016-2017 campaign.
According to calciomercato.com’s transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, former Juventus manager Antonio Conte tops the wish-list of Roma’s Sporting Director Walter Sabatini, who would appoint the current senior Italy coach next summer, just after EURO 2016.
It has to be said that negotiations between the two sides will not be easy, and that the club and the 46-year-old have still not held any official talks, but Conte is definitely Roma’s N.1 choice to take over at the club for next season.
