EXCLUSIVE Romano: Suso scuppered Perotti's move to Milan!
As outlined by calciomercato.com’s expert Fabrizio Romano, Genoa winger Diego Perotti was very close to joining AC Milan last summer. The Argentine was first a target for city rivals Inter, but the Nerazzurri ended up signing Adem Ljajic, leavig the road wide open for the Rossoneri and Sinisa MIhajlovic.
As part of the deal, Milan midfielder Suso would have joined the Grifone, but the Spaniard decided to remain at San Siro. Either way, the two sides failed to reach a final agreement, and the Perotti transfer fell through.
Now, however, Suso's perspective has changed. A few months ago, he still had some hope of starting for Milan. Now, he's more likely to accept Genoa's offer of increased playing time and see if it can't turn him into the new Iago Falque.
Could this open the way to another Milan swoop for Perotti, whom we recently reported wasn't exactly over the moon about the club's current plight?
In the meantime, another former Genoa target –AS Roma winger Juan Manuel Iturbe- has found an agreement with Watford. The former Hellas Verona man was considered the right substitute for Perotti himself, for whom Watford themselves initially made an offer, finally refused by the Rossoblu.

The plot thickens: did we forget to mention that Milan themselves had asked about Iturbe, but were too late?
