EXCLUSIVE ROMANO: No only Juve, Luiz Gustavo reaches verbal agreement with Inter too!

We’ve already reported that Juventus have found verbal agreement with Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo. The Brazilian is the Old Lady’s number two choice for the post-Pogba era after Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, but signing the Blues’ midfielder is a bit too complicated for Juventus at the moment as Chelsea are not open to sell him and the player as no release clause.

Luiz Gustavo, on the contrary, has a release clause set to € 32 million and Wolfsburg don’t want to sell him for less than that. As our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano points out, however, the bianconeri are not the only club interested in the 29-year-old midfielder as Inter have also reached verbal agreement with the player.

The nerazzurri have offered a three-year-deal and similar figures in terms of salary to those offered by the Old Lady. Trouble is, of course, the player’s transfer value. Wolfsburg don’t even want to talk about fees that are not the release clause, Inter will offer € 18 million plus two million of bonus tomorrow, but the offer is likely to be rejected.

What they aim to do is carry on negotiations until the last days of the transfer market when convincing the club would become much easier thanks to the agreement already reached with the player, just like Inter did last summer to buy Perisic.
