EXCLUSIVE Romano: Juventus make bid for Bayern's Benatia

It appears that Juventus are serious about signing Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia.

The former Roma player has made it clear that he doesn't wish to ride the bench at the Allianz Arena, and Juventus were one of the clubs in line to sign the 29-year-old.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that the Bianconeri haven't quite matched the €20 million the Bavarians have demanded for Benatia... but are willing to offer a loan with compulsory buy back, a deal totalling €18 million, to be paid in instalments.

The reasoning is simple: Coach Max Allegri wants a new defender, and the trust he would have in Benatia has never really materialised in Germany.

Roma, for their part, simply don't have the money to make this kind of move yet.
