EXCLUSIVE Romano: How much it would cost Juventus to sign Edinson Cavani
As CM.com’s transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano reports, the race to sign the Uruguay International has just begun and the Old Lady could face intense competition of a number of Premier League clubs.
Cavani’s agent has revealed his client would be open to a Parc des Princes summer exit, in turn Marotta and Paratici have already pounced on the former Napoli star. But how much would Edinson Cavani would cost Juventus?
The 29-year-old striker is on a € 8 million a year deal at PSG, which means the Old Lady would be asked – at least – to match his current salary for the next three or four seasons. According to Romano, however, the player’s price tag could be the most difficult issue to resolve.
No secret that money is not a problem for PSG’s owner Nasser Al Khelaifi who has slapped a € 50 million price-tag on his unhappy hit-man. An offer below € 40 million would not even be taken seriously.
It is Cavani to have the last word on his future. The player will talk about his future at the end of the season only, as PSG are still involved in the race for the the Champions League. Once the season will be over however, Cavani’s agents will announce their intension to leave the club, opening negotiations with interested suitors.
The Uruguay International would prefer to leave before July, joining a Champions League club where he can shine as the brightest star. Premier League sides are in pole position, but Juventus will definitely make an attempt as they will probably need a replacement of Alvaro Morata who’s set to return to Real Madrid.
