EXCLUSIVE ROMANO: Cuadrado: the pact with Juve and the background on Conte
Juan Cuadrado wants to return to Italy at all costs. Every day his agent, Alessandro Lucci, is pushing to take him away from the Premier League, a championship that does not suit the 28-year-old Colombian. Juventus is the destination he desires and a return to the club he represented last season, both Marotta and Paratici are trying their best to make it happen.
CONTRACT AND OFFER
Cuadrado agreed personal terms with the bianconeri a few days ago after a telephone conversation. On offer is a contract worth €3 million, roughly the same that he is on at Stamford Bridge. Added bonuses based around appearances and success would make it worth more and since the agreement was struck, the player only wants Juventus. The Serie A champions have made an offer to Chelsea for an honorary loan of €3-4 million and now it’s in the hands of Marina, Roman Abramovic’s trusty side-kick. With the possibility of Chelsea receiving extra cash based around the success of Juventus this season and without a price fixed for an eventual sale, Cuadrado would remain the property of Chelsea but the bianconeri would have no obligation to buy in the future.
BACKGROUND TO CONTE
New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte considers Cuadrado too important to lose on this basis and executives have considered using Kenedy as part of any agreement. Both Conte and Cuadrado met this week and the Colombian reaffirmed his desire to leave. The former Juve boss understands the player’s situation and he can’t guarantee him a regular spot in his starting XI at Stamford Bridge. His agent Lucci continues to fight his corner in a mission that seems to be getting more difficult with every passing day. A new blitz on London is due shortly as Juve waits and Cuadrado hopes.
