EXCLUSIVE ROMANO: Bologna & their treasure chest of full-backs
Bologna are giving a chance to young talented footballers. This is how new Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino has carried on the work left by his predecessor Riccardo Bigon. Coach Roberto Donadoni has also bought into this ethic to try to guarantee the club a continued revenue stream for future years.
MASINA, BETWEEN JUVE AND INTER:
Adam Masina is the latest off the production line, a player who is “made in Italy” and a left-back destined for a bright future. Towards the end of last year, Juventus tried to snatch the youngster thanks to their excellent relationship with Corvino but then the bianconeri chose to take a different route and their interest waned. JUve will continue to follow him and who knows, in 12 months’ time he could be an ideal replacement from Patrice Evra. Inter are also showing interest and Sporting Director Ausilio knows Masina well since his time as a junior. That interest will continue this season as the player hopefully continues his development .
ROMA – WHO REMEMBERS KRATH?
A year ago Emil Krath could have been a Roma player but instead he switched to Bologna. Born in 1994, the same as Masina, he is expected to get more first-team action this season with the rossoblu. Physical problems have slowed down his development but after a year spent mainly getting back to full fitness, he’s ready for 2016-17 to be his breakthrough season. Krath will still be monitored by Roma who have an excellent relationship with his agents. In the meantime, Bologna fans may get to enjoy his talents as they unveil their latest treasures.
