Prandelli's Piece: 'Dybala better than Platini', What's wrong with Inter?
If Serie A were the Giro, Juventus and Napoli have begun to pull away from the rest of the pack. Inter, Roma and Fiorentina will find it hard indeed if they can't keep up this rhythm. Then again, I don't think that the title race can be limited to these two teams, with their three pursuers having the quality necessary to get back into the race.
Juventus's incredible comeback owes a lot to one man: Paulo Dybala. He's been an absolute driving force, and has surprised me with the easy with which he's managed to slot into a high-calibre team, in a club like Juventus where you have to win.
Few players in Serie A can take on their man, or bring so much genius to every single play, and even be decisive on set pieces. It is also so surprising to see someone like him carry a team that had been extensively rebuilt in the summer. Not even a champion like Michel Platini was quite able to do that, making Dybala a phenomenal player for his age.
What's wrong with Inter? At the moment, Handanovic is the ace up Inter's sleeve, and the best goalkeeper in the league. I'm at a loss to understand the real reasons behind Inter's decline, but it could well be that the attempt at building more and playing better football may have led the team to lose its aggressiveness and cynicism. Proof of this is that the Beneamata is allowing far more chances, and forcing Samir into surpassing himself time after time.
Are Icardi and Jovetic incompatible? It may be best if only one of them plays for the moment, because these joga bonito aspirations may have compromised that early season formula, when Inter based themselves around the Melo- Medel duo.
