EXCLUSIVE: Juventus plot bid to sign Marchetti as backup for Buffon
Marchetti would be the second-choice goalkeeper in the 2016-17 campaign, but it will be very hard to convince Lazio president Claudio Lotito to sell him.
Marchetti, 33, penned a new Lazio contract until 2018 last January and Juve could try to sign him involving one of their youngsters in a player-swap deal or promising Lazio not to interfere with summer negotiations to seal the transfer of common targets such as Riccardo Saponara.
The former Italy International should replace Neto, who has asked to leave the J Stadium in the summer.
According to our reported Nicola Balice, the Brazilian shot-stopper wants to get more game time next season and the club could sell him or loan him out for a couple of seasons. A loan deal would be Juventus’ favourite option with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid interested in welcoming the player’s services.
