EXCLUSIVE: Juventus, Inter or….Sassuolo! Which future for Domenico Berardi?
Berardi was one of Juventus’ key summer targets and his refusal will force the Old Lady to find another offensive player who can replace departing Juan Cuadrado.
According to our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, Juventus don’t want to lose their ‘control’ on the player and they will meet Sassuolo to extend their option on him for one or two seasons at least.
What about Inter? The idea of Berardi came some months ago, when the new Chinese ownerships wanted to sign a young, Italian player to build a new team around him. Trouble is, Sassuolo have slapped € 30 million pirce-tag on the player and Berardi’s entourage have informed the nerazzurri that the only two options for the short-term future of the U-21 Italy international are a move to Juventus or the permanence at Sassuolo.
Berardi will probably spend one more season at the Mapei Stadium, where he will have a chance to grow alongside his mentor Eusebio Di Francesco and to show his potential around Europe as the neroverdi will play Europa League football next season.
