Exclusive: Juventus’ first-option to sign youngster cancelled
Our reporter has also talked to Boca Juniors’ Vice President Marcelo London who has confirmed that the two parties are close to finding an agreement for the Uruguayan midfielder.
“We are negotiating with Juventus, Angelici [Boca president] is in charge of that operation.”
The Argentine club want to add a 50% sell-on clause in deal to send Bentancur to Juventus, but the Old Lady would prefer to negotiate lower figures and are in no rush to complete the deal as they know Bentancur will join Juventus anyway as part of the free Tevez-to-Boca deal completed in summer 2015.
The Old Lady, however, has informed Boca Juniors that they are not going to activate their first-option clause to sign another youngster under contract with the Argentine club. Andres Cubas, 20, is struggling to get consistent game time under Barros Schelotto and the Serie A giants have informed Boca Juniors that they are not interested in signing the Argentinean midfielder anymore.
