EXCLUSIVE: Joao Mario won't join Inter. Was he the right man for the nerazzurri?

Joao Mario won’t join Inter Milan, at least for the moment. Jiangsu Suning have tried to sign the Portuguese midfielder to loan him to the nerazzurri, but Sporting CP have refused the offers made by the Chinese club for the 23-year-old, who has a €60m release clause. Now, the transfer market is over in China, so Inter will have to wait.

Was Joao Mario the right man for the Lombard team? As the European champion won’t join, the 24-year-old Marcelo Brozovic will stay; the Croat can play in the same position, he has already an experience in the Serie A and he is also young: was it going to be worth it to spend €40 million and then earn only half such amount by selling the former Dinamo Zagreb man?

Meanwhile, Inter are trying to sign a winger: the nerazzurri already have an agreement with Lazio 29-year-old Antonio Candreva, but they must negotiate with the biancocelesti, who are asking for €30 million. Also Napoli 24-year-old Manolo Gabbiadini could be an option, but the Lombard club is also working undercover on some alternatives.
