EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Watford interested in Zaza, Sporting Director reveals
Well, we have bad news to report for both clubs, as Watford have officially joined Stoke and Udinese in the race for the 24-year-old hit-man.
Talking exclusively to calciomercato.com, the Hornets’ Sporting Director Nicola Pescara revealed the club’s interest in Zaza’s services.
Mr. Pescara, will Watford try to make a qualitative leap signing a new striker in January?
“The transfer window is still far away, but we have already shortlisted some strikers that we would like to sign. We are keeping every option open and we’ll evaluate the best profile for the club along with the backroom staff.”
Is Simone Zaza a player that could interest Watford?
“Sure. He is a very important striker, everyone’s aware about it. We want to understand if Juventus eager to sell him.”
Alessandro Diamanti and Victor Ibarbo are not playing on a regular under Enrique Sanchez Flores right now. Any chance to see them back in Italy in January?
“At the moment we are happy about the results of the team and we appreciate the style of play. Ibarbo and Diamanti are two important and experienced players and we’ll talk with them in a few weeks in order to know which are their requests for the future. I don’t think they want to leave the club at the moment, but we still have to talk. Everything can happen.
Alessandro Diamanti was linked with an Udinese move in January, while former Cagliari star Victor Ibarbo is a Roma loanee and he could make his Stadio Olimpico comeback in the upcoming transfer window.
