EXCLUSIVE: Inter consider Icardi contract extension amid new Napoli offer
According to CM.com pundit Pasquale Guarro, Inter are now considering whether to extend Icardi’s contract.
President Erick Thohir is aware that Icardi will play a vital role in building the club’s present and future and knows that he can’t afford losing him even for an offer of € 70 million.
Inter consider the 23-year-old unsellable, but a similar offer might convince the nerazzurri to consider Icardi’s sale. However, Inter believe that their priority is to keep Icardi rather than to sell him.
Inter don’t want to offload Icardi, they’ve already informed the striker about their decision and are going to meet the player after the tournament in the USA to begin new contract talks with the target of both Napoli and Arsenal.
The partenopei have offered Icardi a € 7 million-a-year deal, Inter might not offer as much, but a consistent pay rise should convince Icardi to stay at Inter, snubbing the club’s exit.
Meantime, Napoli have made a new attempt for the former Sampdoria star, offering almost € 60 million, bonus included.
The future of Mauro Icardi, however, might be closer to Inter after today.
