Exclusive: Inter and Brozovic to talk over new deal as PSG wait in the wings
It’s been a difficult few months for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
Having ended last season on a high with Inter, it looked like the 24-year-old could finally take Inter by storm. Instead, he could only sit and watch as his club acquired a number of talented centre midfielders, then made things worse by behaving badly towards Inter at a time when a new deal was being renewed.
Left on the bench and with the talks stalling, Brozovic was able to bounce back towards the end of Frank De Boer’s tenure, apologizing to his team-mates and showing a few good things on the pitch. Now that he’s scored an impressive brace for Croatia against Iceland, it appears that he is in good shape, and has strong chances of starting the Derby, seeing as Ever Banega will only be flying back to town on Friday after international duty.
Even better, director of sport Piero Ausilio has hinted that the two sides are set to meet again to discuss a new deal for Brozovic, who is now represented by Doyen. #EpicBrozo’s entourage wants to understand how much the Croatian international will be used. Though PSG are standing by, it looks like Brozovic and Inter are getting on well again.
