EXCLUSIVE: Gabigol’s ‘special’ relesease clause revealed. Who owns his economic rights?
The bianconeri have made an opening € 18 million bid for Gabigol who is also believed to be a target of Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona. The blaugrana have also made a contact to sign the 20-year-old hit-man.
CM.com transfer pundit Nicola Balice has exclusively learned that Gabigol’s economic rights are split between the club (40%), the player’s family (40%) and Doyen Sport Investment (20%).
It has also emerged that Gabigol has a special release clause on his contract, but suitors can only activate it if his family renounce to the incomes they are entitled to.
Juventus are planning to spread the sum that the player’s family are entitled to receive on a three-year deal, € 3-million a year contract, something that they have recently done to sign Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma.
Intermediaries met Santos on Monday to table the offer of Juventus. Santos have asked € 25 million that would be split between the three parties owning the Gabigol’s economic rights.
Juventus have just entered transfer talks to sign Gabigol and hope to sign him before the beginning of Rio 2016. The Old Lady is not going to loan the player out should she complete the player's transfer.
