EXCLUSIVE: FFP may force ElSha to return to Milan!
How disappointed are Milan fans by their club's handling of the Stephan El Shaarawy case?
Loaned by AC Milan with a buyback option to Monaco at the beginning of this season, the former Padova and Genoa youth has since returned to Serie A stardom... but with Roma, scoring six goals in twelve games and generally proving to be consistent attacking threat in Luciano Spalletti's attacking trio.
Now, ElSha absolutely refuses the possibility of returning to AC Milan, where he netted 21 Serie A goals over 4 seasons, including 16 in 37 league appearances in 2012/2013.
And yet, the Pharaoh, 23, may be forced to do so anyway.
Roma and Milan's original agreement obliges the Lupa to exert their buyout clause by June 15th... and pay up by then, too, something which could be a problem for their FFP situation.
The Giallorossi have to present their accounts for the 2015-2016 excercise on June 30th, and would ideally like to pay up gradually, both for accounting purposes, and to avoid frontloading all their payments to the 2015-2016 season.
Though AC Milan would prefer money immediately- their financial situation is hardly rosy- CEO Adriano Galliani is very pally with Walter Sabatini, Roma's director of sport, and the two are set to discuss the situation soon.
One thing is certain: after being cynically snubbed by Monaco, El Shaarawy didn't appreciate being immediately shipped off by Milan. He is now happy in Rome, where he has found someone a club that has put its trust in him. A return to his old hunting grounds would not be appreciated.
