EXCLUSIVE: Could Berlusconi give Miha a contract extension?
“He has to win all the games until the end of the season”, Milan’s owner told reporters before Milan’s meeting with Napoli last week, suggesting that a decision over Mihajlovic’s future had been taken already.
Trouble is, everyone at the club have backed the manager since Berlusconi then.
Both Christian Abbiati and Ignazio Abate praised their boss before the Torino clash adding that firing him would be a terrible mistake. The duo were imitated by Keisuke Honda as the Japan International confirmed the team don’t want the manager to leave at the end of the season.
Milan fans showed their support for the Serbian tactician too with banners and chants during yesterday’s game. Even most of our readers and Twitter followers have sent us messages of support for the Rossoneri boss.
Circumstances given, Berlusconi could decide to confirm the manager for next season and also extend his contract for one more year.
CM.com’s Federico Albrizio reports that Miha’s deal with the Rossoneri runs until 2017, but Berlusconi could ask him to stay for one more year, though he’d prefer to wait and see whether Milan will finish third in Serie A and win the Coppa Italia before taking a final decision on the coach’s future.
